JAKARTA, LITERASIHUKUM.COM — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially detained Marjani, aide or ADC of the inactive Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid, in the development of an alleged extortion case publicly known as the “jatah preman” case. The detention was carried out after Marjani was questioned as a suspect at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Monday (13/4/2026).
After the examination, Marjani was seen wearing an orange KPK detainee vest and escorted by officers to a detention car with his hands cuffed. When asked for a brief statement by reporters, he denied his involvement in the case. Marjani claimed that he did not commit the alleged acts and said that his name was only being used.
“My name is just being used,” said Marjani before being taken to the detention center.
This detention marks a new chapter in the alleged extortion case within the Riau Provincial Government, which had previously ensnared Abdul Wahid. Previously, the KPK announced the naming of Marjani as a new suspect on 9 March 2026. At that time, the KPK emphasized that the addition of suspects indicated that the investigation of the case had not stopped and was still being developed to trace other parties allegedly involved.
