JAKARTA, LITERASIHUKUM.COM — Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, sent a letter to the Constitutional Court (MK), specifically to the judges who are currently adjudicating the judicial review of the TNI Law. The letter was read out during a civil society solidarity action in front of the Constitutional Court Building, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026) by Deputy Director of Imparsial, Hussein Ahmad. In the letter, Andrie emphasized that the attempted murder case through the terror of a hard water attack against him must be thoroughly investigated.
In the handwritten letter, Andrie stated that the law enforcement process for the case that befell him is the responsibility of the state, including ensuring that similar events do not recur. He emphasized that whoever the perpetrator is, with a civilian or military background, must be tried through a general court.
“I object and express a vote of no confidence if the law enforcement process for this case is carried out through a military court,” Andrie wrote.
According to Andrie, the military court has often been perceived as a space for impunity for soldiers who commit human rights violations. Therefore, he assesses that handling the hard water attack case against him outside the general court would be contrary to the principle of equality before the law guaranteed by the constitution.
