Presidential Candidate Ganjar Proposes Right of Inquiry

It was previously reported that Ganjar Pranowo, presidential candidate number 3, proposed the idea of using the right of inquiry in the DPR to investigate alleged fraud in the 2024 Presidential Election. Ganjar encouraged his supporting political parties, PDI-P and PPP, to use this right of inquiry. According to him, the DPR must act on allegations of blatant fraud in the general election. He stated that the DPR has the authority to summon state officials who are aware of incidents of fraud and request explanations from the KPU and Bawaslu as election organizers. Ganjar conveyed this opinion in his statement on February 19, 2024.

This opinion was well received by supporters of candidate pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar. The three political parties that support Anies-Muhaimin, namely Partai Nasdem, PKB, and PKS, agreed to propose the use of the right of inquiry. "We have met and negotiated these steps, and we affirm our solidarity. Therefore, we want to convey that when the initiative to use the right of inquiry is carried out, these three parties will participate," said Anies on February 20, 2024.
