Jakarta, LiterasiHukumCom– A number of national figures who are members of the Gerakan Nurani Bangsa (GNB), led by Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, visited the Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (23/9) evening. Their arrival aimed to visit the activists, including Delpedro Marhaen, who were detained on charges of provocation, as well as to offer themselves as guarantors for the suspension of their detention. The figures present included Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Karlina R Supelli, Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, Inaya Wahid, Gomar Gultom, and Komaruddin Hidayat.

Says the Case is Just a Misunderstanding

According to Sinta Nuriyah, wife of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), the case against the activists was just a misunderstanding. He believes Delpedro cs had no malicious intent to create chaos during the demonstration at the end of August. "Those detained are activists whose goals are not necessarily to be hostile," Sinta said at Polda Metro Jaya. "Maybe there are one or two words that are slightly off, so they are treated like this." Therefore, she and the GNB encouraged the police to straighten out this problem and immediately release the suspects.

Ready to Be a Guarantor for the Suspension of Detention

To show their seriousness, the GNB figures collectively agreed to be guarantors for Delpedro cs. This was emphasized by the former Minister of Religion, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin. "We have come to encourage the police to grant the suspension of detention of the suspects. We are willing to be guarantors," said Lukman.

Background of the Demonstration Provocation Case

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya named six people as suspects in the provocation or incitement in the demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR Building on 25 and 28 August 2025. The six suspects are activists Delpedro Marhaen, Syahdan Husein, Khariq Anhar, Muzaffar Salim, a housewife named Figha Lesmana, and another with the initials RAP. They were charged with multiple articles, starting from Article 160 of the Criminal Code concerning incitement, the ITE Law, to the Child Protection Law.
