Law Enforcement Officials Will Take Action Against Money Laundering Cases in Various Ministries
Legal News- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, stated that if ministry leaders are unable to control this, law enforcement officials will take firm action. Mahfud also emphasized that the government has a lot of data regarding money laundering in various ministries. Therefore, unscrupulous State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the ministries should not feel safe. Mahfud also reminded that in other ministries, they also have a lot of data on money laundering.
Money Laundering Must Be Addressed with Special Handling
Mahfud said that the task of preventing corruption by State Civil Apparatus (ASN) is the main task and function (tupoksi) of each ministry. However, for money laundering in ministries and institutions, there must be special handling. Mahfud mentioned that the Law on the Eradication of Criminal Acts Corruption is only able to solve a small part of the problem related to money laundering. Therefore, special handling for money laundering cases in ministries and institutions is very necessary.
Money Laundering Is an Extraordinary Crime
Mahfud also mentioned that money laundering is an extraordinary crime. He said that the Law on the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering was deliberately created because corruption is only able to solve a small part of the money laundering problem. Furthermore, Mahfud invited all parties to work together to address this issue and emphasized that nothing needs to be stopped from this step because of different paths.
