Jakarta, Legal Literacy - The pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have submitted an application as a related party to the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the Presidential Election dispute. They did this in response to lawsuits filed by the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and the pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. The official registration was carried out by Prabowo-Gibran as a related party, as recorded in the MK's website on Monday (25/3/2024). This step was taken after the MK received registration of lawsuits from candidate pairs number 01 and 03.
"So there are 45 people on the Prabowo-Gibran defense team tonight, who have submitted letters of application to become related parties in the two cases submitted to the Constitutional Court," said the Head of the Prabowo-Gibran Defense Team, Yusril Ihza Mahendra at the MK building, Central Jakarta, Monday (25/3/2024).
Yusril stated that his team had submitted all the requirements requested by the MK tonight. These requirements include a power of attorney signed by Prabowo-Gibran, an Advocate Identity Card (KTA), as well as minutes related to it.
"Then the application letters have also been submitted, one each for one application, which has been declared complete by the registrar of the Constitutional Court and has been recorded in the registration," he explained.
Yusril stated that his team is currently awaiting the MK's decision regarding whether their application as a related party will be accepted or not. He believes that his team has the ability to provide answers to all the arguments put forward by the applicants.
"Furthermore, we will prepare answers to the applications submitted by the two applicants, and this must be submitted to the Constitutional Court on March 27th, and on the 28th according to schedule," he explained.
