Jakarta, LiterasiHukumCom– The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has rescheduled the examination of the Regent of Pati, Sudewo, as a witness on Monday (22/9). This examination is the second for Sudewo in the development of a corruption case in the railway line construction project within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation. "The KPK has scheduled the examination of a witness, Saudara SDW, related to the alleged criminal act of corruption in the construction of the railway line within the DJKA Kemenhub," confirmed KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo. Sudewo, who arrived at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, did not provide any comments to the media and immediately entered the building's lobby. This examination is a continuation of the previous examination he underwent on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. After his first examination, which lasted approximately 6.5 hours, Sudewo stated that he had provided all the information he knew honestly to the investigators. He also admitted that the investigators confirmed the matter of the money he had received. At that time, Sudewo, who was a former Member of Commission V of the DPR RI, emphasized that the money was his official income as a member of the council. "Regarding the money, it was also asked and it was explained in the examination approximately two years ago, that it was income money from the DPR RI," he explained last August 27. The fact regarding this money refers to the confiscation that the KPK once carried out against Sudewo amounting to Rp3 billion. This was revealed in a trial at the Semarang Corruption Court in November 2023, when Sudewo was presented as a witness. In the trial, the KPK prosecutor showed evidence in the form of photos of cash in rupiah and foreign currencies confiscated from his residence. Nevertheless, Sudewo consistently claimed that the confiscated money was an accumulation of his salary as a member of the DPR and the results of his business. Today's follow-up examination indicates that the KPK continues to investigate Sudewo's statements and involvement in the corruption case at DJKA Kemenhub.
