Jakarta, Legal Literacy - KPK Officially Names Sidoarjo Regent, Ahmad Muhdlor Ali, as Suspect in Alleged Incentive Deduction Case.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially named the Regent of Sidoarjo, East Java, Ahmad Muhdlor Ali, also known as Gus Muhdlor, as a suspect in the alleged incentive deduction case involving State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) of the Sidoarjo Regency Government. The KPK announced this decision on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, affirming that Gus Muhdlor has served as regent from 2021 to the present.

Ali Fikri, Head of the KPK News Section, has not provided further details about the role and articles charged against Gus Muhdlor. However, he asserted that the KPK will provide information gradually regarding the progress of handling this case to the public.

Based on statements from witnesses and other suspects in the case, as well as analysis of existing evidence, the KPK investigation team found sufficient evidence to name Gus Muhdlor as a suspect. The case hearing process that had been conducted previously also revealed the involvement of other parties who participated in this alleged corruption, including the deduction and receipt of money within the BPPD Sidoarjo.

After undergoing examination at the KPK, Gus Muhdlor stated that he had tried to provide the most honest information. He also denied receiving money in this case and said that this incident should be a lesson for the Sidoarjo Regency Government to manage governance more transparently.

Meanwhile, the KPK had previously named Siska Wati, the non-active Head of General Affairs and Personnel Subdivision of BPPD Sidoarjo, as a suspect in the same case. She allegedly deducted ASN incentives by 10-30% from the total incentive fund of Rp 2.7 billion.

The KPK has secured Rp 69.9 million in cash from Siska Wati in a sting operation (OTT) conducted in January 2023. The total receipts from the incentive funds were allegedly used for the needs of the Head of BPPD and the Regent of Sidoarjo.
