CILACAP, LITERASIHUKUM.COM — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate the alleged extortion scandal within the bureaucracy of the Cilacap Regency Government. Investigators from the anti-corruption agency have scheduled the examination of seven regional officials as witnesses to unravel the flow of illegal levies that implicated the non-active Regent of Cilacap, Syamsul Auliya Rachman, and the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Sadmoko Danardono.
KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, confirmed that the series of witness examinations were not conducted in Jakarta, but instead took place at the Cilacap City Police Headquarters (Polresta) on Monday (13/4/2026). This proactive step is part of the investigators' intensive efforts to gather evidence to strengthen the legal construction of the alleged crime of extortion in office.
The seven state civil apparatus members who were questioned included several strategic echelon leaders in various regional agencies. They include the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Taryo, Regional Inspector Aris Munandar, Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency Jarot Prasojo, and Head of the Archives and Library Service Achmad Fauzi. Also examined were the Acting Director of Cilacap Regional General Hospital for the 2025–2026 period Kelly Kusdiwiyanto, an employee of the Water Resources Management Service Afif Junisetyaji, and the Head of the BPBD Prevention and Preparedness Division Purwanto Kurniawan.
