JAKARTA, LITERASIHUKUM.COM — 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) stated that he would report Rismon Sianipar to Bareskrim Polri after his name was mentioned in the accusation of funding the polemic of the alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. JK emphasized that the accusation that he funded Roy Suryo and other parties in the amount of IDR 5 billion to question Jokowi's diploma is not true. According to JK, the reporting plan will be submitted by his legal counsel on Monday, April 6, 2026.

In his statement at his residence in South Jakarta on Sunday (5/4/2026), JK mentioned that the issue had been widely spread in the media and needed to be clarified through legal channels. He also emphasized that he had never personally known Rismon Sianipar, let alone been involved in financing the Jokowi diploma polemic. JK only admitted to knowing Roy Suryo because he had been his minister, but strongly denied that there was any funding from him to roll out the issue.

JK denies allegations and clarifies meeting at his house

In addition to denying the funding allegations, JK also clarified the meeting that took place at his residence in mid-Ramadan. According to him, the meeting was not at his invitation, but rather the initiative of the guests who came themselves to convey their aspirations and views. JK mentioned that the guests who came were dominated by academics and professionals, not political party figures. With this explanation, JK wanted to dispel the notion that his house was a center for consolidation to move the Jokowi diploma polemic.

JK's statement comes in the context of the Jokowi diploma case which in recent weeks has experienced different developments. Rismon Sianipar had previously met directly Jokowi and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to convey clarification and an apology. After conducting further review, Rismon stated that Jokowi and Gibran's diplomas are authentic. Even so, his legal status in the case being handled by the police has not automatically been dropped, and he is still recorded as being required to report.
