Rismon's side then denied ever mentioning JK's name

A few hours after JK's statement, Rismon's camp, through their legal counsel Jahmada Girsang gave a response. According to Jahmada, his client never mentioned the name JK as the party funding the Jokowi diploma polemic, and the allegation that Rismon misused JK's name was referred to as a hoax. This denial potentially shifts the case away from solely the diploma polemic and towards a new dispute regarding who first disseminated the funding narrative.

Thus, the focus of the case now moves in two directions. On one hand, JK wants to pursue legal avenues to clear his name from the funding allegations. On the other hand, Rismon's camp denies that JK's name was ever mentioned by their client. If a report was indeed filed with the Criminal Investigation Agency on April 6, investigators will likely first trace the source of the statement, the context of the information dissemination, and whether there are elements of defamation or spreading false information in the case.
