How is the Procedure for Appointing a Constitutional Justice
Normatively, the Constitutional Court has nine constitutional justices who are appointed by Presidential Decree. The constitutional justices are proposed by the Supreme Court (three people), the DPR (three people), and the President (three people), to then be appointed through a Presidential Decree.
In the provisions of the amendment to the Constitutional Court Law, if there is a constitutional justice who will be dismissed due to reaching the age limit, the Constitutional Court notifies the proposing institution. Furthermore, the proposing institution submits a replacement to the President, and the Presidential Decree regarding the appointment of the replacement is determined within a certain period of time as regulated by law.
