JAKARTA, LITERASIHUKUM.COM — Polda Metro Jaya revealed new developments in the investigation of the acid attack case against an activist KontraS, Andrie Yunus, in the area of Salemba, Senen, Central Jakarta. Police mentioned there were four alleged perpetrators who used two motorcycles when launching the attack, then fled in different directions after the action.
Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Kombes Iman Imannudin explained that one motorcycle carrying two perpetrators fled against the traffic flow towards Pasar Senen, then move to Jalan Kramat Raya, Tugu Tani, the area of Gondangdia Station, until heading to the area of South Jakarta. Meanwhile, another motorcycle also carrying two people moved straight to Jalan Pramuka Sari 2, then CCTV footage showed it heading towards Matraman, Jatinegara, until Jalan Otto Iskandar Dinata, East Jakarta.
From the processing of CCTV recordings and digital analysis, the police also found that one of the perpetrators allegedly changed clothes during his escape. After that, the perpetrators reportedly dispersed to several areas, including Kalibata, Ragunan, and Bogor. The police affirmed that the investigation team is still collecting legal facts through CCTV analysis and communication networks to hunt down the suspected perpetrators.
This development adds important details to a case that has received widespread public attention from the outset. Previously, the police stated that Andrie Yunus experienced burns of approximately 24 percent as a result of the attack and is still undergoing treatment. This case has also become a serious concern for the authorities because the victim is a human rights defender who is active in the public sphere.
Chief of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri emphasized that this case will be investigated in a professional, transparent, and accountable manner. He said that all stages of the investigation are proceeding according to the President's instructions. Prabowo Subianto and the National Police Chief's instructions, with the principle of prudence so that the information conveyed to the public is truly verified.
With the escape routes of the perpetrators revealed, investigators are now focused on the final identification and arrest of the suspected perpetrators.
