JAKARTA, LEGAL LITERACY - Secretary-General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Hasto Kristiyanto, has reportedly been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This designation is related to alleged bribery involving Harun Masiku in the case of an interim replacement (PAW) of legislative members.
This information was confirmed by a source who mentioned that the KPK had conducted an expose of the case last week. "Yes, the expose was carried out last week," the source said when contacted on Tuesday (24/12/2024).
The Investigation Warrant (Sprindik) designating Hasto as a suspect is known to have been issued under number Sprin.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024 on December 23, 2024.
KPK Spokesperson, Tessa Marardika, stated that her party is still seeking information regarding the news. "I will check first. If there are any developments, we will inform you immediately," she said.
On the other hand, Chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Ronny Talapessy, also stated that he had just learned about this information through the media. He has not communicated with Hasto to confirm its truth. "I just read it from the media and there has been no communication with Mas Hasto. If this information is correct, the party will take a stand," Ronny revealed.
As of the time this news was reported, there has been no official statement from Hasto Kristiyanto or PDI-P regarding the report. This development has become a public spotlight, considering Hasto's strategic position as an important figure in a major party.
