JAKARTA, Legal Literacy – President Director of PT Supertone (SPC), Tedjokusumo Raymond, admitted that his company obtained initial information regarding the procurement plan for Chromebook-based laptops within the Kemendikbudristek during the era of Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim from Google. Tedjo made this admission while testifying in the continuation of the alleged corruption case of Chromebook procurement at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (24/2/2026).
According to Tedjo, in 2020 he was contacted by a distributor, PT Tri Tunggal, which opened an official purchase order (PO) in July 2021. However, prior to that, he had received information about the large-scale need for Chromebooks. The Public Prosecutor (JPU) then read out the Investigation Report (BAP) which stated that in October 2020, Tedjo obtained information from the distributor regarding the procurement plan, and the witness confirmed this.
Allegedly There Was a Leak of Specifications Before Procurement
Tedjo explained that after receiving information from the distributor, he contacted a representative from Google Indonesia who then connected him online with the ranks of Google for Education Asia Pacific, including an official named Colin Marson.
In that meeting, according to Tedjo, it was conveyed that in 2021 there would be a large procurement of Chromebooks with the Chrome OS operating system. The prosecutor emphasized that the Investigation Report mentioned that there was specification information that had been “locked” before the procurement was carried out. Tedjo confirmed that Google conveyed the plan to purchase Chromebooks for the ministry led by Nadiem.
In the communication, Tedjo was also directed to contact the Kwang Ta company in Taiwan as a supplier of device raw materials. PT Supertone then purchased components from the company and assembled Chromebooks in Indonesia.
