JAKARTA, literasihukum.com – The Constitutional Court (MK) held 30 hearings for disputes over the results of the 2024 simultaneous regional head elections (PHPU Pilkada) on Thursday (1/16/2025). According to information from the official MK website, seven of the cases examined today are Pilkada disputes from the Province of Papua and its surrounding areas.
The Pilkada case from Papua involves several regions, including the Southwest Papua Province with petitioners Abdul Faris Umlati and Petrus Kasihiw. Meanwhile, from the Central Papua Province, there are petitioners Wiliem Wandik and Aloysius Giyai, as well as petitioners Natalis Tabuni and Titus Natkime. Another case from this province was filed by Wempi Watipo and Agustinus Anggaibak.
From the South Papua Province, the MK is examining a case in the name of petitioners M Andrean Saefudin and Salsabila, as well as the Indonesian Voters Association (PPI). Another case comes from petitioners Darius Gewilom and Yusak Yulawo.
Hearings Examined by Three Panels of Judges
The agenda of this hearing includes a preliminary examination conducted by nine Constitutional Court Justices in three panels. Panel I is chaired by Constitutional Justice Suhartoyo, assisted by Daniel Yusmic Foekh and Guntur Hamzah. Panel II is chaired by Saldi Isra, along with Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani. Meanwhile, Panel III is chaired by Arief Hidayat, with members Enny Nurbaningsih and Anwar Usman.
In total, the MK will process 30 cases consisting of 7 disputes over Pilkada at the provincial level, 22 cases at the district level, and 1 case at the city level.
